20. Judit Polgar – Strongest Female Chess Player in History
Hungarian chess grandmaster Judit Polgar is known as the strongest female chess player in history. She broke into the World Chess Federation’s rating list of top 100 players in 1989, ranking no. 55 at the age of 12.
Since then, she has become the no. 1 woman player in the world and held the title for around 25 years. In 2012, she released an autobiography entitled “How I beat Fischer’s Record”. She beat his record in 1991, when she became the youngest grandmaster in history after winning the Hungarian National Championship.
