For some reason, people generally don’t think of professional athletes as being world class intellects. Maybe it’s the high school stereotype of the dumb jock. These 30 athletes show that athletic ability and intelligence are not mutually exclusive. Some of these will really surprise you.

How We Know He’s So Smart: He graduated from Yale University where he studied biochemistry and biophysics, got a 34 on his MCATs and attended medical school at NYU
Personal Biography: Breslow was nicknamed the “Smartest Man In Baseball” by the Minneapolis Star Tribune; the Wall Street Journal also wrote that he’s one of the smartest people in professional sports. Breslow’s parents were both teachers and stressed learning and education in the home. In addition to his baseball career, Breslow started a company called Ministry of Supply that makes business-friendly biking apparel.
